EXAM DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Item Writing - Participants will work on exam item development and construction. Workshops are typically held once per year and last between 2-3 days.

Item Referencing - Participants will verify references of items to textbooks, the content outline, and the ABFSE Curriculum Guide. This is continuous throughout the year.

Item Review - Participants will review exam items for accuracy, verify content, and review item analytics. Workshops are typically held once per year and last between 2-3 days.

Forms Review - Participants will review content for cognitive level requirements and analytics. Workshops are typically held once per year and last between 2-3 days.

Study Material - Participants will review and create Conference study material for study guides, practice exams, and other tools, which may include item writing review and review of funeral service terms and outline professional expectations.

Candidate Comment Review - Participants will review comments left on exam items by candidates, verify the content for accuracy, and flag items for further review, if needed. This is continuous throughout the year.

GOVERNANCE OPPORTUNITIES
Board of Directors - Directors can serve two three-year terms.

Nominating Committee - This committee will oversee the Board of Director nominees and elections.

Model Document Committee - Participants will work on updating existing Conference model documents, such as Model Practice Act, Model Internship Program, Model Disposition Standards, and Model Application.

By-Laws - Participants will meet at the request of the Board of Directors to review By-Law recommendations.

Ad-Hoc Committees - Includes any other governance-related committees that may be formed in the future.
