CRITERIA & PROCEDURES

$25.00 reprocessing fee.

The Reprocessing Request Form is an amendment to an application on file. Candidates can request to have their NBE-Arts application switched to NBE-Sciences or their NBE-Sciences application switched to NBE-Arts. Reprocessing will take 2-3 business days to update the exam authorization. Candidates will not be permitted to switch exam funds to/from an exam other than the NBE. The reprocessed exam application and payment expires one year from the original application/payment date.

I hereby apply for the National Board Examination, which will serve to determine my proficiency in Funeral Service as taught in the accredited schools according to the standards set forth by the Examination and National Board Committee. I agree to abide by the rules and regulations governing the conduct of this examination, the certification procedures, and to accept the results as evidence of my knowledge of Funeral Service for the review of any state licensing board/agency for the funeral service profession.

I understand that verification of graduation from an ABFSE-accredited program is required by The Conference before I can sit for the examination. The Conference requires a verification of graduation or an official conferred copy of transcripts in order to take the NBE. The verification of graduation and official transcript must be sent directly from the program.

I hereby authorize the release of my scores and certification of passage to the state or states indicated, the school of mortuary science from which I have graduated and the ABFSE strictly for use as a statistical evaluation tool for accredited programs of mortuary science. I also authorize the school of mortuary science that I am attending or have attended to verify to The Conference my graduation from that school. I understand that my name and address may be provided to the state in which I am taking the exam if it is required by that state.

I hereby acknowledge having received and read The NBE Candidate Handbook, read The Conference’s policies and procedures, and that I have watched the exam security video, and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions. By submitting the application, I acknowledge and understand the terms associated with The Conference and The National Board Exam.

The Conference Board of Directors reserves the right to require candidates found to have violated the policies and/or procedures regarding access to and administration of the exam program to seek and receive permission from the relevant member board before further access to such exam program.
