Follow these simple steps to register, prepare, and take your exam through The Conference
Review the Candidate Handbook
You agree to the terms and conditions of the Candidate Handbook during the application process. It is important that you understand the policies and procedures of the exam administration process.
Request Candidate Portal Access
Request an account. Authorization may take up to 2-3 business days. Watch for an email!
Verify Your Eligibility
Verify with your state or school that you are eligible to sit for the exam. National Board Exam: Candidates must graduate from an ABFSE accredited program with a minimum of an Associate's Degree. — OR meet state eligibility requirements and have the state board where you are seeking licensure provide exam eligibility directly to The Conference. Laws, Rules, & Regulations Exam / Other Exams: Determined by state licensing board.
Submit Your Exam Application
Submit your exam application for the NBE-Arts, NBE-Sciences, or any other state-specific exams.
Allow processing time
Please allow 2-3 business days and watch for an email. If you haven't received the email and/or do not see your application in your Candidate Portal, we likely have not received your eligibility. Please see step 4.
Schedule Your Appointment
You will receive an email with scheduling instructions when your exam authorization has been processed and you are able to schedule with Pearson.
